I found your site doing what I love so it MUST be a good thing! But yes its a lot of work only it doesnt feel like work...or the difference is ...work you hate, your are looking at the clock every few minutes willing it to go faster, work you love, ...suddenly the day is over!

I suspect the reality is that most of us wind up working really hard and if we are lucky, part of the time it is what we love. Mixed in are large portions of doing things we hate. Here's to the good stuff always outweighing the bad stuff.

I've always had a problem with throwing around the mantra "do what you love." Nice sentiment, but not everybody will be able to do what they love. However, we can all figure out how to enjoy and take pride in what you are doing.

I think when you are working hard at doing what you hate, it feels pointless/fruitless and zaps your energy. If you work hard at what you love, it's less draining and you can do so much more because rightly or wrongly we believe we are having a positive impact on those around us above & beyond the receipt of $$.

One of your best. I've never seen it put quite so simply and to the point. LOVE IT : >

I like this. I am finding that the work I hate is not there any more. So I am nurturing the flowers. No excuses. And you're right, it does require twice or three times as much work.

EXTREMELY HARD

A reworking of a sentiment I say a lot these days.

It never occurred to me, when I was younger, that if I got successful, I would have to work twice as hard. I thought being "successfuL' was not having to work...

But success is a very delicate flower. It doesn't take a very heavy elephant in order to trample it to the ground.

So one has to work twice as hard, keeping those pesky elephants out of the yard.

The trouble arises when you get SO BUSY battling the elephants, you forget all about the flower. We've seen it happen, many times before.
